DKCC Committee meeting at Chaithanya on Aug 24, 2011
Attended by DKCC Working Committee Members and some of the nominated
Delegates from the different Regions.
Meeting started sharp at 10:00 AM and lasted till 5:00 PM, including lunch.
The Working Committee President, Mr. George Nelamattom, chaired the meeting
assisted by Raju Oril, Jose Kottoor, Instain Valayil.
The meeting started with the opening prayer of DKCC Spiritual Director, Msgr.
Mathew Elapanickal the VG of our Archeparchy, along with the Spiritual
Director of KCCNA, Rev. Fr. Thomas Mulavanal.
Mr. Instain Valayil welcomed the members.
Mr. Sunny Kottoor introduced the Guests.
Mr. George Nellamattam presented an up-to-date report of DKCC.
Mr. Raju Oril briefed DKCC Constitution, which took almost the
whole day and several changes & fine-tuning of the Constitution were
done as per the advises of all the attendees.
Finally the committee decided to submit the revised Constitution to our
Archbishop for approval.
The election of the new office bearers were discussed in details and the delegates
from US had the opinion of allowing at least one months time for this process so
that they can discuss the matter in their National Council and come back with
prospective nominations.
Sri. Joppen Philip Mannattuparambil, of Middle East, explained that when the
present Working Committee was formed in Jan. 2010, it was given the task of
preparing a Constitution and to form an Executive Committee for DKCC, by Jan.
2011, but the duration was extended till Aug.2011 in order to conduct a full-
fledged meeting of the DKCC. Hence an extension of this meeting is not
practical and it is important that we fulfill the 2nd responsibility of the Working
Committee promptly. Delegates from Europe and Oceania agreed to this point.
Finally all delegates agreed to proceed with the election process.
Delegates from KCCME (Raju Oril, Joppen Philip & James Cheruserril),
proposed the process of SELECTION rather than an Election. Also we proposed
the distribution of the Key positions to the 4-regions, like the position of the
President may be given to US & Canada region, the General Secretary
position may be given to Europe region, the Executive Vice President position
may be given to the Middle East region and the Joint-Secretary position to
Oceania region, and finally the Treasurer position also to be given to US region.
All the members agreed to the point that, this distribution is only for the first
time and the distribution shall be changeable from the next terms onwards.
Sri. Sunny Kottor suggested that the General Secretary position may be given to
Sri. Raju Oril, but was nicely declined by Raju Oril and confirmed that we shall
be happy with the position of Executive Vice President.
Delegates from each region were given 10-minutes time to discuss amongst
themselves and come up with ONLY ONE name for one position.
The delegates after internal discussions came up with following names :
The President :
Delegates from US & Canada nominated the name of Mr. George Nellamattam
The Executive Vice President :
Delegates from Middle East nominated the name of Mr. Raju Oril.
The General Secretary :
Delegates from Europe nominated the name of Mr. Instain Valiayil.
The Joint-Secretary :

The Treasurer :

confirmed above positions.
The Nominated President Mr. George Nellamattam addressed the audience in his
capacity as the new President of DKCC.
